A Medical
Approach
to Weight

Weight is not a character flaw. It is a complex biological, hormonal, and behavioral phenomenon — and it deserves a clinical response.

01

Weight Is a Medical Condition

Obesity and metabolic dysfunction are chronic medical conditions influenced by neurohormonal signaling, insulin regulation, and genetic predisposition. Treatment requires medical strategy — not willpower. Weight is managed with the same clinical standards applied to other long-term conditions.

02

The Hormonal Connection

For many women, weight gain during perimenopause and menopause is directly tied to declining estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone levels. These hormonal shifts alter fat distribution, metabolic rate, insulin sensitivity, and appetite regulation. Evidence-based pharmacotherapy, including GLP-1–based therapies when clinically appropriate, can play a central role in restoring appetite regulation and supporting metabolic health during this transition.

03

The Psychology of Eating

Emotional eating, stress-driven food behaviors, and long-standing patterns around food are common and warrant thoughtful, non-judgmental evaluation.

04

Sustainable Results, Not Quick Fixes

The objective is clinically meaningful weight reduction and improved metabolic health. Treatment is structured to support steady progress under supervision, with adjustments made as needed based on response and tolerability.

Featured Treatment

GLP-1 Receptor Agonist Therapy

Semaglutide (Ozempic®/Wegovy®) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro®/Zepbound®) represent a landmark advance in medical weight loss. These GLP-1 receptor agonists work by regulating appetite, slowing gastric emptying, improving insulin sensitivity, and — in the case of tirzepatide — also activating GIP receptors for enhanced metabolic effects. These peptides help reduce cravings and promote satiety — resulting in sustainable weight loss when paired with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

How GLP-1s Are Prescribed

  • Metabolic screening before initiation
  • Gradual dose titration to minimize side effects
  • Regular monitoring of labs, weight, and tolerability
  • Attention to muscle preservation and body composition
  • Clear plan for long-term management and potential discontinuation

Ongoing Monitoring & Access

Regular check-ins, lab reviews, and direct provider access throughout your treatment — so adjustments happen proactively, not reactively.

  • Scheduled follow-up visits
  • Lab monitoring & review
  • Medication titration
  • Direct provider messaging

Your Mental & Metabolic
Health Are Deeply Connected

Who Qualifies

Per FDA guidelines, this treatment is intended for:

  • Adults with a BMI of 30+
  • Adults with a BMI of 27+ plus at least one weight-related condition (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol)

BMI doesn't qualify?

You may opt for microdosing — very small, consistent doses to support your body, balance blood sugar, increase metabolic support, and reduce body-wide inflammation. There is no BMI requirement for microdosing.

Who Should Not Take GLP-1s

  • Patients with Type 1 Diabetes
  • Personal or family history of Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
  • Known allergy to semaglutide or tirzepatide
  • Significant gastrointestinal disorders affecting motility
  • Active or recent pancreatitis
  • Persons who are pregnant or trying to conceive

More Than
Just Weight Loss

GLP-1 therapy and integrative weight care can unlock benefits that go far beyond the number on the scale — touching your relationship with food, your mental clarity, and your metabolic health.

01

Regain control over emotional and compulsive eating

Address the behavioral and neurochemical patterns that drive eating beyond hunger — with compassionate, non-judgmental clinical support.

02

Reduce cravings and explore new relationships with alcohol

GLP-1 therapy has shown promising effects on reward-driven cravings — including alcohol — helping many patients experience a meaningful shift in compulsive urges.

03

Achieve metabolic and mental wellness

Improved insulin sensitivity, reduced inflammation, and hormonal balance can have profound effects on mood, energy, and cognitive clarity.

04

Quiet the food-related preoccupation — “food noise”

Many patients describe a remarkable quieting of the constant mental chatter around food. Less obsession. More presence. More freedom.

05

Reset your relationship with food

Beyond weight loss, this is an opportunity to rebuild a healthier, more peaceful relationship with eating — one that supports your life rather than dominating it.
